Munroe, an emerging R&B artist, graced the Glastonbury stage not once, but four times, before jetting off to Italy for a private performance, only to return to the festival for more shows.
Munroe's Glastonbury debut was nothing short of a "rollercoaster," as she described it. Initially booked just a month and a half in advance, she performed at the Lonely Hearts Club stage and later joined the MOBO UnSung showcase. Her weekend was punctuated by an impromptu performance for Black at Glasto, before she dashed to London Stansted Airport to catch a flight to Pisa. There, she played two shows, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, before returning to Glastonbury on Sunday.
The festival, held at Worthy Farm, has been criticized for its lack of diversity, a sentiment echoed by Black British comedian Lenny Henry in 2022. However, recent years have seen a shift, with Black artists like Stormzy and Jay-Z taking center stage.
